# Install Slack

An organization admin installs the Slack app and maps channels to Cassis projects. No server configuration is required.

1.  Open **Organization → Slack** and choose **Install**.
2.  Approve Slack’s OAuth consent screen.
3.  Map each channel to one Cassis project.
4.  Invite the Cassis bot into each mapped channel.

The bot responds only when mentioned. A channel without a project mapping cannot answer questions.

## Give a teammate access

Slack users are matched to verified Cassis accounts by email. When someone without an account mentions the bot, Cassis asks an admin in the channel to approve account creation. After approval, it creates the account and answers the original question.

Slack-created accounts receive the default role. Change the role under **Organization → Users** if the teammate should curate the ontology.

Uninstall from the same settings page. Cassis revokes the bot token and keeps the channel mappings for a later reinstall.
